Karen's story:
Karen's 15 minute nose transformation, will bring harmony to her face 'explains Dr Joseph Hkeik': her treatment plan included a non- permanent filler to start, to improve the aesthetics of the nose and rebalance the face and to ensure that karen was absolutely thrilled with the result, which lasts for 6-9 months.
Dr Joseph then saw Karen again 9 months later, with the option of a longer lasting filler that can last up to 10 years. Karen was thrilled to have this option offered to her.
On the 26th of November karen returned to all saints cosmedical clinic for her long lasting, non-surgical rhinoplasty treatment, numbing cream was applied 10 minutes prior, along with a local anaesthetic to ensure a comfortable procedure was had. The entire procedure took no longer than 15 minutes, with a further 5 minutes post treatment to ice the area.
As the focal point of the face, it is no wonder that people wish for the "perfect nose" that will complement their other facial features. The only concern holding most people back? Actually going under the knife and the long, painful recovery normally associated with rhinoplasty (nose) surgery. Finally there is now an alternative.
What is an injectable nose job?
It is a non-surgical nose job that is a new and exciting treatment available to patients interested in improving the shape of their nose without undergoing invasive surgery.
An injectable nose job aims to accomplish some of the same goals as traditional rhinoplasty - greater symmetry and a more even, attractive shape for the nose - but the procedure is entirely different from surgical approaches. It is done through the injection of dermal fillers to shape and recontour the nose. The type of filler that is used is determined after a discussion of your goals and medical history with Dr. Hkeik.
Unlike a surgical procedure, these fillers allow patients to obtain quick results with little or no healing time.
How long does it take?
The injectable nose job can take place in as little as 15 minutes and provides patients with a contoured shapely nose, enhancing their overall appearance and increasing self-confidence.
It is relatively painless and can be completed in one appointment. During the treatment, Dr. Hkeik will inject the filler into the desired areas of the nose to help camouflage abnormalities. Though you may be concerned that the nose will look larger after treatment, it simply smoothes out the nose and gives it the shape you desire.
Who are the best candidates for an injectable nose job?
A nose job without surgery is an excellent option for patients who are interested in correcting minor imperfections, creating a more proportionate appearance and shaping the contours of the nose. This treatment is an excellent way to solve the appearance of bumps, drooping tips and crooked noses safely and quickly.
Unfortunately, those with major nasal deformities and those who are looking to reduce the size of their nose are not candidates for an injectable nose job. For these patients, surgical intervention is necessary.

Seven weeks to Jacqui’s younger-looking beauty: her treatment plan included Pearl Fusion to improve the skin texture, peels, microdermabrasion, laser vascular, dermal fillers and muscle relaxing injections to target wrinkles.

Jacqui’s story:
“I had so much sun damage in my teenage years then worked as an air hostess for ten years - which was also very drying for my skin.
In my twenties I was partying, in my 30’s the focus was raising children, and now it’s time to take care of myself. I always said to my husband that by my forties – I’ll be sorted! I’ve never had any issues with my body, but it’s definitely time to be as well as I can, and this also means looking as good as I can. This is like a gift to my-self.
"I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of person and don’t want to be overdone.”
In the initial consultation, Jacqui presented with:
• Sun damaged skin
• Uneven pigmentation on her skin – a thickened layer of dry skin on the surface all over her face. Like most people this layer is ‘avascular’ meaning no blood supply can reach it.
• Both static and dynamic wrinkles.
• Cyst acne – pimples that come up like a cyst under the skin
• Larger pore size
• Loss of facial volume
Dr Hkeik prescribed antibiotics and also lanced one of the cysts to help release the toxins and allow it to heal. He explained that it was necessary to take off the entire epidermis over a few days to reveal the fresher, dewier skin to work with.

Pearl Fusion treatment: two laser treatments are used in a single treatment session – the “Pearl” and “Pearl Fractional”.
• Pearl provides full epidermal renewal, improving pigment texture, fine lines and pore size.
• Pearl Fractional provides fractional ablative treatments for deep wrinkles and sun damage – plumping and firming the skin to create a more youthful look.
• In effect, an overall skin renewal is achieved with Pearl, whereas Pearl Fractional can be used to target more specific problem areas - using both these lasers in a single session is effective and more individually tailored.
Jacqui came into the Darlinghurst clinic one hour before the treatment so she could have numbing cream applied to make the treatment as comfortable as possible. The Pearl Fusion treatment feels like a series of fast, hot pinches. Afterwards, a Zimmer cooling system was held to the face for 20 minutes to help alleviate the ‘sunburnt feeling’.
Claire O’Mara, a cosmetic nurse at All Saints and trainer for Cutera performed this treatment on Jacqui and said:

On the first night after the treatment, Jacqui need to sleep at a 45degree angle to help reduce swelling. She also applied a simple mix of sterile water and vinegar to her face every two hours during the days following treatment, to keep the skin moist and aid in recovery.

Jan Marini proteolytic enzyme facial – removes any excess dead skin cells and gives a healthy glow to the skin. After this gentle treatment, Jacqui could wear mineral make-up and use her normal moisturiser again.
It’s normal for the skin to appear red for a few weeks post laser treatment, so a mineral makeup containing sunscreen helps protect the skin and present with an even complexion.

With Jacqui’s skin visibly improved, Dr Hkeik used a combination of dermal fillers to fill wrinkles, sculpt more defined cheek-bones, plump lips and define other facial features. Muscle relaxing injections are used to inhibit the action of muscles causing wrinkles.

Jacqui’s injectable treatments included:
• Muscle relaxing injections – in the upper and lower face to ease the appearance of wrinkles in her forehead.
•Soft dermal filler – this soft fourth generation filler was injected superficially to create more shapely lips, into the tear troughs to alleviate the sunken and hollow appearance under the eyes, into the nose for a more smooth line, and in the nasolabial folds (the lines running from nose to corner of mouth)
• Structural dermal filler – this filler was used to create more shape and structure in Jacqui’s face – including more well-defined cheek bones, mentalis and chin – 5 November 2009
Dr Hkeik injected Soft dermal filler into the “smoker’s lines” around Jacqui’s mouth and into the glabellar fold to soften her forehead.
Muscle relaxing injection was injected to further inhibit the muscles causing the deep wrinkle in Jacqui’s forehead.
Claire performed a Vascular laser treatment using an NDYAG laser to remove the capillaries near Jacqui’s nose.

Jacqui enjoyed a microdermabrasion treatment which buffed her skin.
Jacqui said:
